Are You Foggy Inspired?

Here is how my day started....foggy.

 More fog....
...and...
there is other evidence...

... of snow...and footprints...

But also......there is still a hint of green around.
The snow....although not expected to stick around for long...
will probably be back before the bounty of green.

Do you like foggy mornings.......do they inspire you?

Caught In Action!

I know someone was enjoying my sunflowers!  ....and now I know who.
(Although I haven't figured our what kind of bird it is.)

Anybody know?

Whoever birdie is though....sure blends right in to the scenery.

But it is a win - win situation, since I enjoy the birds visiting
and the birds enjoy my sunflowers!

Sometimes You Can Catch A Swimmer

It is one of my favorite sites! Going for a walk down to the pond and discovering "a swimmer"!
There is just something about it, that gives me great joy.

This duck enjoyed many hours just swimming around, ducking under the water and soaking in the sunshine.  It was such a beautiful fall day.

I feel blessed to have the wildlife stop by, feeling safe enough to spend time in my corner of the world.

What brought you joy in your part of the world?

A Frosty Morning Delight ~ A Birdie or More

.
Don't you just love "catching" a birdie convention?
I first noticed this one outside my kitchen window.  Love those birds that can brave a frosty morning! (and even those that love it warm and toasty.)

He (or she) is all fluffed up, and understandably so, since the temperature did dip below freezing a couple nights ago.

I'm not sure what kind of bird it is..........do you know?

A view from inside tea house.

It was a lovely afternoon spent with a friend.

My Summer is ~ Fascinating Dragonflies

Did you know that there are over 5000 varieties of dragonflies around the world?

Of course most of them are, where we aren't, but we can still find a variety of them close to home.

I think the one fact I like the most about dragonflies, is that they like something I don't ~ mosquitoes! So when I see a dragonfly I am glad!

But enjoy them while you can, as a dragonfly spends most of its years in the water in the nymph stage and only a short time in the adult stage.  (from several weeks to maybe six months)

In Celebration of Canada Day

To celebrate the day, I thought I would go on a walk-a-bout.  I wanted to search the countryside and see what I could find in the colors of the day ~ red and white.

This is what I found.

You got to admit, the leaves do look kind of maple leaf-ish.  What do you think?

Happy Birthday Canada!

Oh The Carefree Days of Clouds

 Here the fluffy clouds.....
                       go sailing
                               and drifting
                      and floating.

Speeding across the sky......

Zoom.........zoom.........

Can you see the shapes, the faces, the critters?

Is it a spaceship, hat, or turkey in the sky?

What can you imagine
         is floating by?

How about you take a five minute, stress reducing, mind imaging, cloud break?

I Just Had To Share This Tip....

The book is: “Lessons I Learned in the Dark”, STEPS TO WALKING BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT

I’m reading in chapter ten.  Here is the setting: Jennifer is getting ready for a speaking engagement.  Her son is playing Nintendo in the living room.  Her husband is not home at the moment.

(The one thing you need to know about Jennifer is that she lost her eyesight at about age 15.)

So she can’t see her hair, but she can tell by the way it feels that it is not a good hair day.  So to fix things up decided that maybe what she needed was a little makeup.  One of her friends had given her some eyeliner and lip liner from a new cosmetic line she was selling.  She didn’t usually wear liners but decided that under the circumstances today would be a good day to try them.  Perhaps it would give her a special look and no one would notice her bad hair.

She applies it carefully and with a new confidence heads for the door.  On the way out she passes her son, he comments that her lips looked black.  She replied that no it’s a new color, raisin.  Her husband, who was to take her to the event, had just arrived home.  Since he was running a little late she met him at the door.  When he sees her, says with panic, “Your eyes are flaming red!

So by now it was obvious that she had gotten the makeup mixed up. It was good makeup and she had to scrub hard to get it off.

But here it is......... in the next sentence she says:

(“Here’s the practical application for the female reader: If you’re having a bad hair day, just put lip liner on your eyes and eyeliner on your lips.  I guarantee that it will give you a special look and that no one will notice your hair!”)page 170, chapter 10, para 5

So there you go ladies, your quick fix recipe for when you have a bad hair day!!!

This is from the chapter called Laugh at Yourself.  Sometimes we take ourselves too seriously.  Jennifer has a great way of showing us spiritual principles from everyday life experiences.

The Bloggers Prayer

(Do you ever feel like you are writing to an empty room? If so, here is the prayer for you.)

The Bloggers Prayer

Oh, Mister Spider, of the great big World Wide Web,
Can you spare me a length of your sparkling golden thread?

Some folks are really quite shy to come so near by you,
But I do need some help and don’t know what else to do.

I have been racking my brain for just the perfect choice of words,
But the feeding on my posts has just gone to the birds.

Your web is so tangled up and it is so very big,
The sites keep building up to an ever bulging fig.

The SEO and RRS feeds they confuse me so,
So Mr. Spider can you help me with my traffic flow?

Can you crawl the web all over and tweak the bits and bytes?
And take my blogging trail up to grand new heights?

Mr. Spider, you know the trails both inside and out,
You know the back links and the buss routes without a doubt

You know the smooth ways and are master of the sticky roads,
You have the key words to help with all the heavy loads,

So, Mr. Spider, can you go and fetch me a really large catch,
And make the trail so sticky that comments have time to hatch.

Please make the roads up to the door wide and easy to find,
Because you know folks can get distracted and be kind of blind,

You have the special secret to make traffic go zoom, zoom,
And it sure would cure my problem of writing to an empty room!

How about a blog challenge ~ have some fun with your blog name.  If you have an exceptionally long one you may pick a phrase from it that suits you best.

Make a sentence or two from your words.  If possible, use the first letter as the same letter the word starts with.  Kind of like a backwards acronym.

Remember to link back to my blog post so that I can come check out your (backwards) acronym.

Ponds are like People

.....they merely reflect
what is in and around them!

Here are two bodies of water on the same piece of land just separated by several feet of roadway.

They both contain the same kind of water.  Both contain water from melted snow, runoff, seepage and rainfall.  All comprised of the chemical formula H20; a molecule that contains one part oxygen and two parts hydrogen.

So why is the same so different?

When it comes to water in a lake or pond there is a combination of factors that can influence color.  The lake or pond surface can reflect conditions of the sky.

Dissolved particles may make water look more clear and blue or brown.  Suspended particles reflect light back to us and may make water look more muddy brown, cloudy green, or gray. Nutrient load, algae growth and chemicals can change the color of water.

And just like water, people are the same but different.

We have a similar chemical formula that makes us all look like people, but what is floating around in our minds makes us so different.

We are a unique combination of cultural backgrounds, life experiences, personalities, dreams, goals, and challenges that contribute to how we reflect life. What we read, what we choose to belief, and what surrounds us can also influence the way we reflect life.

Both ponds are pretty even though they reflect different colors.  What beauty are you reflecting?
